3 Las Vegas Raiders players who should change their number

Trayvon Mullen: From No. 27 to No. 1

With their second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Clemson standout cornerback Trayvon Mullen. The Defensive Most Valuable Player of the CFP National Championship Game in 2019, Mullen was a two-time national title winner with the Tigers, establishing himself as a shutdown cornerback for defensive coordinator Brent Venables.

Since arriving with the Raiders, Mullen has been a rare bright spot in the team’s secondary, stepping up big time as a rookie, and continuing to move in the right direction in Year 2. Currently wearing No. 27, Mullen is a guy that I would love to see go back to his old college number, as it would be a sight to see him rocking that No. 1 as a shutdown cornerback in Las Vegas.

Mullen is the Raiders CB1, so why not don the number that made him one of the best cornerbacks in all of college football a few years back with the Clemson Tigers. As is the case with Ngakoue’s No. 7, nobody currently wears the No. 1 for the Raiders, so if Mullen wants to go back to being No. 1, it is his for the taking.
