Las Vegas Raiders pre-2021 NFL Draft position review: Linebacker

Tanner Muse

Tanner Muse was proclaimed the special team’s “war daddy” by Head Coach Jon Gruden when Muse was taken in the third round of last year’s draft, and then he got injured in training camp and spent his rookie season on the IR.  Muse is looking to make the transition from college safety to a professional linebacker, so that will take a little while for him to fully develop anyways.

While in college at Clemson, one of the main schools the Raiders have been drafting from since Jon Gruden joined the organization, he was a very solid player.  He was a special teams player as a redshirt freshman, started as a sophomore collecting 57 tackles with four pass breakups, and as a junior, he earned third-team All ACC honors.

In his senior year, he was a third-team All American and first-team All-Conference.  There isn’t much more to say about Muse until he actually produces on the football field, so we wait to see if he can make an immediate impact, at least on special teams.
