Las Vegas Raiders fill major holes early in 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft
By Brad Weiss
Bringing in just one cornerback in this year’s draft class is not going to do, as the Raiders have major issues on the outside, as well as the inside at the position group. Luckily, they get a player here in the sixth round that played both in Oregon’s hybrid defensive scheme, and that player is Deommodore Lenoir.
Lenoir has a lot of excellent qualities, including his ability to track the football in the air, as well as his willingness to come up and make big plays against the run. He is also pretty smooth in coverage, and this late in the draft, the Silver and Black could get a player that adds depth across both cornerback spots.
Overall, this would be a solid haul for Mayock and Gruden, two guys who were recently ranked the worst general managers not considered “newbies” by CBS Sports. This draft class has to move the Raiders towards the next step, which is being a playoff team, something they have not consistently been since the early 2000s.
