Las Vegas Raiders pre-2021 NFL Draft position review: Wide Receiver

With the 2021 NFL Draft kicking off at the end of the month, we take a look at the state of the Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver group.

The Las Vegas Raiders spent a lot of draft capital and minimal free agency dollars to build up their wide receiver group in 2020. Despite using a first and third-round pick on receivers, the biggest contributions came from a player who signed for nearly the veteran minimum in Nelson Agholor.

Such is life in the NFL as you never really know what you’re going to get in either the draft or free agency until you see the players in action on the field. That was the case with Agholor but also with rookies Bryan Edwards and Henry Ruggs who both looked the part but struggled to make much of an impact during games.

You can chalk up their struggles to the lack of a real offseason as the teams could hold no official workouts until training camp and even that was disjointed and hampered by COVID protocols. Even their work during the season was limited by the COVID protocols so we will have to hope that 2021 will be different.

After making a few moves this offseason, the Raiders now have a deep receiver group with a great mix of youth and experience so let’s take a dive into the position and see if the position will be addressed in the 2021 NFL Draft.
