Las Vegas Raiders pre-2021 NFL Draft position review: Wide Receiver

Depth: Bryan Edwards, Willie Snead, Zay Jones, Keelan Doss, Marcell Ateman

The Raiders made a few moves to address the need for depth at the receiver position and from the looks of it they have a very solid group in case of injury to any of the starters. The group is headlined by Bryan Edwards, the former third-round pick out of South Carolina, who had a similar season to Ruggs where he showed flashes but lacked consistency.

Edwards was in and out of the lineup due to injuries and COVID but had moments where he looked every bit the big and physical receiver the Raiders thought they were getting. After losing his starting job to Agholor due to injury, Edwards never found a rhythm in the offense and was held back by injuries but should be able to bounce back with a full offseason.

Bringing in Willie Snead from the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal is an under-the-radar move but gives the Raiders an accomplished veteran receiver to fill out their top 5. Snead has had an incredible career considering he started as an undrafted free agent and has made himself a reliable pass catcher on two perennial playoff contenders.

Zay Jones was retained on a one-year deal as well and though he has not been very productive, he gives the Raiders and Carr a veteran receiver who has plenty of experience in the offense. Beyond him, there are Keelan Doss and Marcell Ateman who will likely stay on the practice squad but are just as familiar as Jones with the offense.
