Las Vegas Raiders pre-2021 NFL Draft position review: Cornerback

Depth: Isaiah Johnson, Rasul Douglas, Keisean Nixon, Nevin Lawson, Rashaan Gaulden, Kemah Siverand

The Raiders veteran addition this offseason is former Panthers CB Rasul Douglas on a reported one-year deal. The contract figures have not been released yet but it’s likely not a big-money deal.

Douglas was last with the Panthers but was drafted in the third round of the 2017 draft by the Eagles and started 18 games over three years with them. He is not a big name like Richard Sherman or Patrick Peterson, two reported targets, but he is also much younger than either of those two players and has plenty of starter experience. Douglas could push Arnette for that starting role opposite Mullen.

Isaiah Johnson had a couple big moments in 2020 including the dramatic game-sealing play against the Chargers but he was mostly unspectacular. The team likes his measurables and think he can develop so we will have to wait and see if they are right to have faith in him.

Keisean Nixon and Nevin Lawson provide some more depth but neither are game-changing players. They can both play inside and outside corner so their flexibility makes them useful and the Raiders could plug Lawson in at nickelback if Robertson is not ready just yet. Kemah Siverand and Rashaan Gaulden round out the group but are just practice squad guys at best.
