2021 NFL Draft: AFC West mistakes that benefit Las Vegas Raiders in Round 1

Kansas City Chiefs: Reach on an edge rusher

The Kansas City Chiefs have issues they need to address on the offensive side of the ball, and most experts feel they will select an offensive tackle with the No. 31 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They also have been rumored to be in the market for more talent at the wide receiver spot, which would give Patrick Mahomes another weapon in the passing game.

Looking at this 2021 NFL Draft class, one area where there is a lack of the first-round talent is at edge rusher, a spot where the Chiefs also need some help. Guys like Gregory Rousseau and Kwity Paye are likely to be gone by the time the Chiefs pick towards the end of the first round, so they may try and reach on one instead.

There are a few reaches when it comes to this draft class at that position, including a player like Jayson Oweh, who did not have a single sack at Penn State. If the Chiefs neglect the offensive side of the ball with their first-round pick, that would certainly be a win for this Raiders defense in 2021 and beyond.
