Ranking the Las Vegas Raiders first-round picks since 2010

10. Damon Arnette: 2020 – 19th overall, Ohio State

It may be harsh to have Damon Arnette this low on the list but that is just the reality after the former 19th overall pick struggled to make much of an impact at all in his rookie season. Arnette was considered a reach by many draft pundits when the Raiders took him that high as they had given him a third or second-round grade at best.

The rookie struggled with injuries as his broken thumb would take him out of games for a series and he dealt with concussion issues as well later in the season. There were flashes of ability as he showed a fearlessness as a tackler but the same characteristic knocked him out of two games against the Falcons and Jets.

We will have to wait and see if Arnette can bounce back with a full offseason and there is high hope around the organization that he will develop into the dominant, physical cornerback they selected. He will have to fight for his place in the starting lineup opposite Trayvon Mullen but a little competition never hurt anyone.
