The Las Vegas Raiders currently have a solid QB group in place but a talented backup could be found late in the draft, specifically on Day 3.

The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the better QB situations in the league with an excellent starter in Derek Carr and a talented backup in veteran Marcus Mariota. Even the third-string QB Nathan Peterman has some talent and starting experience even if he has become a punchline on social media.

Jon Gruden usually loves his veteran QBs and that’s on display with his decision to bring in Mariota as Carr’s back up and hold on to Peterman despite his struggles. This love for veteran QBs however comes with a price and the Raiders may choose to go younger and cheaper at the backup QB position in the future.

It may seem strange for the Raiders to select a QB in this year’s draft but if they trade down and stock up on late-round picks there are a few intriguing options that could prove to be great backups or even starters someday in the future. Let’s dive right in and see who the Raiders should target in the late rounds.
