2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders erase needs in 7-round mock draft

Although the Las Vegas Raiders selected a cornerback in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the position group is far from settled. In fact, the Raiders would be best served to use an early-round pick on a cornerback this year once again, finding someone who can push to be a starter alongside Trayvon Mullen.

When looking at the position group, Mullen is going to start on one side, but we still do not know who starts on the other. Sure, in a perfect world, that would be 2020 first-round pick Damon Arnette, but I do not believe anybody believes he is ready to shoulder that load heading into Year 2, especially after what we saw during his rookie season.

With pick No. 48, the Raiders could decide to go with Asante Samuel Jr., who has first-round potential and has the NFL pedigree that is going to make him as NFL-ready as they come in Year 1. Samuel is an elite cover guy, who certainly push Arnette for a starting role, and would bring depth to one of the weaker position groups on this roster.
