Las Vegas Raiders: Ten 2021 NFL Draft Sleepers to know

Benjamin St Juste: Cornerback, Minnesota

  • Consensus Ranking: #121

Richard Sherman helped make cover three an elite scheme while playing for Gus Bradley in Seattle and helped popularize big lengthy corners. And when it comes to big corners in this draft, no one can match Minnesota’s Benjamin St. Juste. Standing at 6’3 and 200 lbs with an 80-plus inch wingspan, he can cover a ton of ground just by standing still.

And on top of that size, St. Juste has great quickness running a 6.63 3-cone and a 4.00 short shuttle. He also proved to be plenty fast enough for his size, running a low 4.5 in the 40 yard-dash.

The Raiders have struggled big time in the secondary and should continue to invest in it until things turn around.

St. Juste is by no means a perfect prospect; he’s still raw in terms of route recognition, and his size does become an issue when flipping his hips. But his physical profile is made for a press cover three scheme. He’s not going to be someone teams covet early because he is probably a scheme-specific prospect, and he’s old for the class (24 years old).

But for the Raiders, getting a player like him in round three or four would be an excellent fit. He doesn’t have to start right away, and with some polish, the Las Vegas could be getting a legit starting corner.
