Las Vegas Raiders pre-2021 NFL Draft position review: Safety

Dallin Leavitt

Dallin Leavitt is a player who has caught the attention of head coach Jon Gruden and is another one who survived the purge this offseason.  He is the true definition of a “Gruden Grinder,” as he is mostly a special teams player, and a core locker room guy, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will still be here if the Raiders add a safety in the draft.

Joining the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent in 2018, he has been a 53-man roster surprise every year so far, so maybe this is not a surprise at all anymore.  He appeared in nine games in the 2020 season and only accumulated two passes defended and ten total tackles, but it is not like the secondary as a whole played well.

Leavitt is a hard-working, dependable, and well-liked guy, and he has carved out a role on this roster. Who knows whether or not he will be with the team when all is said and done this summer, but if he does make the 53-man roster, we can all acted shocked one more time.
