2021 NFL Draft: Day 3 linebackers for Las Vegas Raiders to target

KJ Britt. 1. player. 842. . LB. Tigers

We start off with KJ Britt, a senior out of Auburn who was limited to just 14 starts over his four-year college career. Britt came to Auburn as a four-star recruit but did not start a game until his junior year but was active for all of the Tigers’ games in 2017 and 2018.

Britt’s best season came in 2019 where he started 12 games for the Tigers and put up 68 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. He is a physical player that can bring the wood at 6-0, 235lbs and ran a solid 40 time of 4.76 for his position.

The limitations on Britt come mostly in coverage where is considered too stiff to shift his hips in space and can get lost on blocks in space. He makes up for that with a physical approach in the run game and is known as a thumper when taking on blocks at the line of scrimmage. Britt’s primary strengths are in the run game and given the Raiders’ struggles there he could be a good fit on the defense.

Currently projected as a sixth-round pick, Britt improved his stock with a strong Senior Bowl performance after missing the majority of the 2020 season due to thumb surgery. He projects as a rotational inside linebacker which is precisely what the Raiders need after losing Raekwon McMillan to free agency.
