2021 NFL Draft: Ranking the Las Vegas Raiders draft needs

No. 4: Cornerback

You could argue that cornerback is the Raiders weakest position, but they do have Trayvon Mullen, who has played well and is going into his third year, Damon Arnette, who was a massive disappointment last year, was a banged-up rookie, and Isaiah Johnson, who is also in his third season, is still an unproven project at this point.

The cornerback group, per usual, struggled last year, and to be honest, that will likely happen again. If the Raiders drafted a cornerback early, I would not be mad at all. Yes, Las Vegas drafted a cornerback in the first round last year, but immediately after that pick was made, everyone knew it was a reach, and although it is very early, I did not see anything in Arnette last year that is giving me hope.

There are four or five cornerbacks that could be taken in the first round, but this is a position that I could see the Raiders trading back to get. This class has a lot of Day 2 talent as well, so if they cannot get one of the top corners in this class in Round 1, expect the position group to be targeted on Friday.
