2021 NFL Draft: 3 Bold predictions for the Las Vegas Raiders on Day 2

No. 2: Raiders go “best player available”

The Raiders certainly have needs heading into the final two days of the 2021 NFL Draft, and they are on both sides of the ball. Las Vegas added some talent to their offensive line in Round 1, but they still lack playmakers on the defensive side, especially in the secondary, where they could be in the market for a cornerback, or safety.

However, as we have seen in the past, Mayock and Gruden could be on a whole other level when it comes to this draft class, and could just be stacking players they think are the best available, no matter where they play. It would not be surprising at all if the team drafted a position they do not need on Day 2, bringing in a wide receiver or tight end when there are defensive backs that can help them still on the board.

Another position they could target is quarterback, as there are some good signal-callers still available, and we all know how much Jon Gruden loves his quarterbacks. The hope is that they draft the best player available, but in terms of a position of need, not just grabbing the best player on the board and trying to make the piece fit.
