With such a heavy need for defensive players, the Las Vegas Raiders decide to address all three levels of the unit on day two of the draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders have finished day two of the draft, and as expected, they went heavy on the defensive side of the ball.

Starting with the secondary as the team traded up five picks (#43) to take TCU safety Trevon Moehrig, who went much later than anyone expected. Many considered Moehrig to be the top safety in the draft, but teams clearly didn’t see it that way as he ended up being the third safety off the board.

Moehrig should come in and start free safety from day one, so getting him in the second round is a value that fans can cheer about.

In the third, the Raiders went back to back with picks #79 & #80, selecting Buffalo’s Malcolm Koonce and Virginia Tech’s Divine Deablo.
