Las Vegas Raiders: Way-Too-Early 2022 Mock Draft Roundup

The Athletic (Dane Bugler) – #7 Drake Jackson, USC

Were back to USC, but this time it is for the other side of the ball. The Las Vegas Raiders have long had issues getting to the quarterback since Khalil Mack was traded away, and this selection would certainly help them get better at doing just that.

Dane Bugler of The Athletic has the Raiders going with defensive lineman Drake Jackson, who’s been a dominant force from the moment he stepped on campus.

"“When I was studying USC’s tape during the 2019 season, I thought I found a sleeper prospect when No. 99 kept popping on film. Turns out Jackson was only a true freshman, and he quickly announced himself to the world as a future top pick.”"

I personally coached against Jackson when he was in high school and can say firsthand that this guy is the real deal. A nice blend of athleticism and strength, Jackson is someone with all the traits to be an elite pass rusher on Sundays.

And until the Raiders show significant improvement on the defensive line, they should always be looking to take pass rushers early.
