Las Vegas Raiders: Way-Too-Early 2022 Mock Draft Roundup

Bleacher Report (Brent Sobleski) – #6 Sam Howell, UNC

Hey, look, it’s another quarterback.

But this time, Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski has the Raiders taking North Carolina’s Sam Howell.

I will give Sobleski credit; he prefaces his prediction by saying if the Raiders find themselves picking at #6, something went terribly wrong in 2021. And with such a high pick, it is hard to look past a potential quarterback. Particularly someone as talented as Howell.

"“North Carolina’s Sam Howell became one of college football’s best quarterbacks the moment he stepped onto the field. As a true freshman, Howell posted an impressive 38-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio. A season later, his completion percentage improved by nearly 7 percent, and his yards per attempt increased”"

Howell lost a ton of skill-position help to the draft this past weekend, so he may take a step back production-wise. And if he somehow doesn’t, we may be looking at the number one pick in the draft.
