Las Vegas Raiders: Way-Too-Early 2022 Mock Draft Roundup

Yahoo Sports (Derrik Klassen) – #6 Justyn Ross, Clemson

When you look at the Raiders, it is clear that they like to take players from big-time programs, so it is not hard to mock one for them.

And Derrik Klassen of Yahoo Sports takes note of that trend.

"“Yes, this is in part because this Raiders’ regime seemingly only picks players from top-10 programs. The Raiders do need a wide receiver who can win from the outside, though. Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards, and Hunter Renfrow are all decent players, but none of them quite offer true No.1 WR qualities. The major issue with Ross is the neck injury that kept him out of 2020, but he was one of the best WRs in the nation before then and should return to that status in 2021.”"

His rationale is not bad here. As much upside as Henry Ruggs offers, he maynot be the alpha one number one guy of a great receiver group. On the other hand, Justyn Ross has the physical profile and ability of someone who can be just that. We’ll have to see how he comes back from his neck injury, but he is certainly a first-round talent if all is good.
