Las Vegas Raiders: Way-Too-Early 2022 Mock Draft Roundup

247 Sports (Andrew Ivins) – #7 DeMarvin Leal, Texas A&M

The Raiders needed an interior defensive lineman in the 2021 draft, but unfortunately, the draft class was low on top-end talent at the position. That may not be the case in 2022, and if so, the Raiders should take a look at drafting one early.

247 Sports’ Andrew Ivins thinks the same thing and has the Raiders taking Texas A&M’s, DeMarvin Leal.

"“The 2021 draft class lacked top-end interior pass rushers. Time will only tell who goes where in 2022, but it’s hard to envision a scenario where Leal doesn’t hear his name called Day 1. The Lone Star State native is an athletic, scheme-versatile lineman with a motor that runs hot. He has totaled 12.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in his first two seasons with the Aggies. This would be a rare non-reach for the Raiders.”"

That last sentence was a bit of a jab, but in terms of an athletic and versatile piece on the defensive line, Leal would be a welcomed addition. Remember, the Raiders sent Maurice Hurst packing this offseason, and brought in a bunch of fliers at the defensive tackle spot.

Leal would be a welcome addition in Gus Bradley’s defense, as he needs four linemen up front who can get after the quarterback.
