NFL schedule release: Predicting Las Vegas Raiders 2021 schedule

Week 5: At New York Giants

The Raiders go back-to-back with NFC East opponents as they head to Metlife Stadium to face off against the New York Giants. The Giants were big spenders in free agency on both sides of the ball and they made sure to get weapons for QB Daniel Jones.

One of the most exciting players in the NFL in Saquon Barkley is coming off a major injury but if he’s back then the Giants should have a fun offense. Jones is a turnover machine but the Raiders’ defense will have to be at its best to take down a frisky NFC opponent.

Week 6: At Pittsburgh Steelers

The Raiders and Steelers look to continue one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries dating back to the legendary AFC playoff battles in the 1970s. The Steelers always seem to win these games at home and the Raiders would usually win in Oakland so now we get to see if the trend continues.

This will likely be the last time the Raiders face off against Ben Roethlisberger and it would be good to send him off to retirement with his last memory of the Silver and Black coming in defeat.

Week 7: Home vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Last year the Raiders were within a few plays of sweeping the AFC Champs but came up just short in the home matchup at Allegiant Stadium. The Chiefs are still the prohibitive favorites in the AFC West and likely the AFC as a whole but to be the best you got to beat the best and that’s exactly what the Raiders plan to do.

Both games in 2020 were offensive shootouts and we should expect more of the same in 2021 with the Raiders hoping to at least split the series once again. Winning the home matchup would be a great place to start.

Week 8: BYE WEEK

Week 9: Home vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Just like last year’s matchups with Kansas City, the two games against the Los Angeles Chargers came down to the wire with each team coming away with a victory. The Chargers lost several close games last season thanks to coaching but they come into this year with a new coach and a second-year QB in Justin Herbert that is full of confidence.

Herbert’s play was one of the stories of the season and many are picking LA as a trendy Super Bowl contender but they have to go through the Raiders first.
