Las Vegas Raiders: Toughest stretch of 2021 schedule

Week 13 vs Washington Football Team – Sunday, December 5

The Washington Football Team was the polar opposite of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. They had a truly mediocre offense that was 25th in the NFL in points scored but featured a ferocious defense that was fourth in points allowed.

Washington rode that special defense to a 7-9 record which was good enough for first place in the woeful NFC East and they gave the eventual champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers a good fight on Wild Card weekend. It may be strange to have a team that finished 7-9 in the toughest stretch, but they are included because of what they have done this offseason.

The Football Team was already a great defensive team as they were near the top of the NFL in all the major categories including sacks and turnovers forced, but they bolstered that unit through free agency and the draft. More importantly, they added some dynamic playmakers on offense in Curtis Samuel and Adam Humphries.

Perhaps most importantly, they added another veteran QB who knows how to run the show in Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The veteran QB has a history of pestering the Raiders and his most recent blow to the Silver and Black ended their playoff hopes with his miracle heave with the Dolphins last year. This is a well-coached and disciplined team with playmakers on both sides of the ball and could be a trap game despite that because of who the Raiders face next.
