Las Vegas Raiders to face mostly non-elite QBs in 2021
Above Average (4 Games)
- Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns), Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)
Of course, looking at his career, Ben Roethlisberger is likely to end up in the Hall of Fame, but looking at the 2021 NFL season, he is an above-average quarterback. There are major questions along the Steelers’ offensive line, and he does not move the way he once did, but the Raiders have to head East after their Week 1 matchup against Baltimore for this one, and that could prove troublesome.
Las Vegas plays against at least above-average quarterbacks in three other games, including the Cleveland Browns and Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow shredded his knee last season but should be back in time for their matchup in the middle of the season, and he will be teamed with former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase for Year 2.
Dallas and the Raiders play on Thanksgiving Day, and Prescott is coming off a tough injury as well. He was absolutely firing on all cylinders before his injury last season, so the expectation is he is on the brink of becoming one of the elite quarterbacks in the league.
Mayfield led the Browns to the Divisional Round last season and should be even better in his second season with Kevin Stefanski. Cleveland has made it known that Mayfield is their guy, saying they are not interested in a trade for Aaron Rodgers, and he another quarterback who is just getting started.
