The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to make the playoffs for the second time since the 2002 season, but here is why that may not happen.

Over the past two seasons, the Raiders have started out hot, looking like a playoff team, and dominating tough early-season schedules. However, they have also faltered down the stretch the last two seasons, ruining 6-3 starts, and finding themselves on the outside looking in at the playoffs.

In fact, this is a franchise that has been to the playoffs only once since the 2002 NFL season, and in that year, starting quarterback Derek Carr broke his leg in Week 16. That ruined any chance they had to make a serious run to the Super Bowl, and since then, they have struggled to even go .500.

As we look towards the 2021 NFL season, there is a lot to be excited about, and the Silver and Black certainly could end up being one of the seven playoff teams from the AFC. However, they also have a roster that is loaded with question marks, and that could prove to be their undoing once again this season.

With that said, here are three reasons the Raiders could miss the playoffs in 2021.
