Las Vegas Raiders star running back Josh Jacobs is one of the best in the league at his position, but PFF may have dissed him in their latest rankings.

The Las Vegas Raiders have plenty of question marks heading into the 2021 NFL season, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The defense was a unit that ended last season as one of the worst in football, which hampered the team’s chances of making it to the playoffs.

On the other side of the ball, the offense was top-10, as Derek Carr threw for over 4,000 yards once again, and Josh Jacobs rushed for over 1,000 on the ground. Jacobs has now rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons in the NFL, proving to be one of the best in the game at his position.

Heading into 2021, he is going to be a key for the Raiders on offense, and should build upon his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Raiders star ranked No. 9 overall

In Pro Football Focus’s ranking of the top running backs in the NFL entering the 2021 NFL season, Jacobs was listed, but he was dissed by where he landed. The media outlet ranked Jacobs as the No. 9 overall running back in the league, which is a bit low in my opinion.

Ranking below the likes of Chris Carson from Seattle, and an injured Saquon Barkley from the New York Giants, Jacobs should have been closer to the top-5. Jacobs is a player who can not only dominate in the run game, but is also a tremendous pass-catcher, and when healthy, he is one of the premier backs in all of football.

Looking at the rankings, I believe that Jacobs should have been the No. 6 back on the list, moving ahead of the aforementioned Carson and Barkley, while also sliding past Green Bay Packers star Aaron Jones.

Las Vegas did bring in Kenyan Drake as the No. 2 back for the team in 2021, which should take a huge load off of Jacobs’s shoulders. Gruden has already said that he plans on getting Drake plenty of touches in the offense, and the hope is that it keeps Jacobs healthy throughout the entire 17-game slate.
