Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions for the 2021 NFL Draft class

Round 2, Pick 43- Trevon Moehrig- S- TCU

Trevon Moehrig is everyone’s favorite pick in this draft for the Raiders, and for good reason. Many had Moehrig ranked as the top safety in this class, predicting him to go in the first round, and a lot of people predicted him to go to the Raiders in round one.

The Raiders passed on Moehrig in round one but were able to trade up for him in round two. One of the biggest weaknesses for the Raiders over the last ten years has been their play at safety and their inability to cover the deep ball.

Moehrig is exactly the type of safety the Raiders need, being able to cover the deep ball and cover all over the field wherever he is needed. Moehrig will be the perfect compliment to Johnathan Abram, as he will make up for the mistakes and recklessness that Abram will surely continue to struggle with.

I believe Moehrig has the ability to start for the Raiders right away and could be one of the best defensive rookies in this draft. This is the first time in a long time I have been excited about a Raiders defensive rookie.
