What role would Jones play with the Raiders?
A player like Jones is looking for one thing: a ring. He’s at the end of his career and is simply looking to win. With the Buccaneers having to retain all their Championship playmakers, they are presumably the team to beat in the NFC South, putting the Falcons at a disadvantage before the season even starts.
The Flacons also made it clear they are not going to move on from Matt Ryan anytime soon by not drafting a top quarterback in the first round and electing to take a possession tight end.
If the Raiders make a move for Julio Jones, I think he’d take the primary receiver role. Even after 10+ years, Jones is still a force not only in the deep field but in the short game too. Two years ago, on Monday Night Football, we all saw what Jones was capable of.
The then-29-year-old receiver took a 5-yard curl to the house to ice the game when his team needed him.
With a young offense, in particular, the receiver corps with Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow, Jones could be a good fit to take on that savvy veteran role while still producing good numbers. Not to mention name one quarterback that wouldn’t want him on their team?

Las Vegas Raiders: Why Darren Waller will be an All-Pro in 2021
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller had his best NFL season in 2020. See how and why he can be even better and earn an All-Pro selection in 2021.
In the end, a trade for the veteran receiver doesn’t seem too likely due to the price and what the Raiders could be willing to pay. This being said, crazier things have happened in the NFL, mainly an all-star receiver losing his passion for the game and quitting on his team.
