Las Vegas Raiders: 3 position groups that must improve in 2021

Cornerbacks

It is no big secret that the Raiders were atrocious on the defensive side of the ball this past season, and the secondary was basically non-existent on way too many occasions. While we could certainly dive into the safety spot here, the cornerback group has to improve in a big way in 2021, and they made a concerted effort to do just that.

Trayvon Mullen returns at the top of the depth chart, and he is a player who could be in for his first Pro Bowl this season. Outside of Mullen, the position group was riddled with question marks, so the team went out and got Casey Hayward, who was once one of the better cornerbacks in the league.

Mullen and Hayward will lead a young, but talented group, and the expectation is that guys like Amik Robertson and Damon Arnette will improve in Year 2. Also, Isaiah Johnson is a nice young player, and Nate Hobbs was a 2021 draft pick, so while young, the talent is there for this group to take a big step forward this season.
