Las Vegas Raiders: 3 position groups that must improve in 2021

Edge Rushers

Staying on the defensive side of the ball, the Las Vegas Raiders just could not get after the quarterback this past season, racking up only 21 sacks as a team. That is an extremely low number, and when you consider that Maxx Crosby had seven of them, it was evident that the organization needed to stack more talent on the outside this offseason.

They did that in a big way, adding Yannick Ngakoue via free agency, a player who could be in for a double-digit sack for the Silver and Black. With Ngakoue and Crosby on the edge, as well as Clelin Ferrell, who improved in Year 2, the Raiders have a solid three-man rotation atop the depth chart.

Behind them, the Raiders also have some talent, as Malcolm Koonce has been labeled as a potential steal from the 2021 NFL Draft class. Carl Nassib returns, and will only be used in situational pressure spots, but as a whole, you have to think that the organization did a nice job bolstering a position group that was a real issue in 2020.
