Las Vegas Raiders: 3 players who cannot take a step backward

Clelin Ferrell

Since being drafted with the No. 4 overall pick, Clelin Ferrell has drawn the ire of the fan base on many occasions. Because he was drafted so high, and the player they passed up on, Josh Allen, has been outstanding at getting after the quarterback, he is seen by many as kind of a bust at this point.

However, that is only the people who only read the stat sheet, because when it comes to making an impact, Ferrell certainly took a big step forward in 2020. He is a guy who is solid against the run and is an important piece of the puzzle for this defense, as he has the ability to play both inside and out along the defensive line.

With the addition of Yannick Ngakoue this offseason, the Raiders have some quality depth on the edge, and that will lead to Ferrell being used in several different ways. He was a solid player in 2020, and if he can take a step forward in 2021, he is going to prove to be well worth the draft slot he was chosen in.
