Las Vegas Raiders: 3 position groups that could be an issue in 2021

Cornerbacks

This group certainly has a lot of young, developing talent. Trayvon Mullen has been a really solid, starting corner for the defense. If he can adjust well and get better in 2021, they’ll he’ll be a very good number one corner for the team.

Everyone else is a bit of a question mark.

Casey Hayward was a good veteran pickup for Vegas, but the quality of his play has been diminishing as he ages. He’ll likely get the start in Week 1, but he won’t stay there if he can’t stay healthy or if he can’t play with the same efficiency that he did when he was a Pro Bowler. There is also the question of whether or not Damon Arnette can grow in his second year.

Hopefully, an offseason of training helped Arnette get stronger and healthier for 2021.

Also, there is the question of who the starting nickel corner will be now that Lamarcus Joyner is gone. So far, it seems as though Amik Robertson is the favorite to start. Practice reps are much different than what a player faces in-game. Even if Robertson gets the start after camp is over, he will have to prove that he can be a starter in his second year.
