The Las Vegas Raiders have tried to bolster both sides of the ball this offseason, but three position groups could end up being a real issue in 2021.
This offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders addressed a lot of needs, both offensively and defensively. Players like Yannick Ngakoue and Casey Hayward were brought on as free agents, and Alex Leatherwood and Trevon Moehrig were drafted to be immediate difference-makers.
Even with some needs addressed there remain some position groups that appear to be a little bit weaker or unproven than the rest. These groups aren’t inherently bad or lacking talent, but they will rely heavily on whether or not the new and current players can improve.
As we saw last season, the Raiders need to not only be consistent but to get solid play on both sides of the ball. In 2020, the offense played at a very high level for most of the season, but the defense just could not get off the field, leading to another year on the outside look in at the playoffs.
In 2021, the hope is that all of the additions add up to a winning season, and a trip to the playoffs, but these three position groups could have their issues.
