The Las Vegas Raiders are in one of the best divisions in the NFL in the AFC West and the talent starts at the top with the quarterback position.

The Las Vegas Raiders have a tough test in 2021 as they will be duking it out for AFC West supremacy against the defending AFC champs and two other teams that many believe are trending upward. The Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and the Los Angeles Chargers all have loaded rosters but their successes, just like the Raiders, will largely be decided by the play at the QB position.

The Chiefs have long dominated this division, and the conversation in terms of the quarterbacks, as Patrick Mahomes is one of the best, if not the best, in the game. Last season, Justin Herbert proved to be a legitimate franchise guy, Derek Carr threw for over 4,000 yards again, and Drew Lock was wildly inconsistent, and all four should be the starters again in 2021.

In the first of a multi-part series, we at Just Blog Baby will be ranking the position groups across the AFC West and determine where each team’s position group ranks. With so much talent around the division and a legitimate case for three playoff teams like the AFC North had in 2020, this will be a tall task but one we’re happy to take on.

Let’s start with the position running the show and one that has caused much controversy among Raider Nation as they fight over whether their franchise QB is any good or not.
