Las Vegas Raiders: 7 possible surprising cuts in 2021

Carl Nassib, DE

I am not sure if this would necessarily be a surprise release, but it has not happened yet, so him being cut would be a result of him losing his spot to a player like Matt Dickerson. Carl Nassib has not performed nearly well enough for the pay he is receiving, and the Raiders could use the money.

The other ends on the roster are Clelin Ferrell, Maxx Crosby, Yannick Ngakoue, and Malcolm Koonce, all players that are locks to make the roster. In the lone season for the Raiders, Nassib recorded 2.5 sacks and an interception, numbers that certainly were not worth the price tag.

This season, the Raiders have a brand new defensive coordinator in Gus Bradley, so every player is going to get a chance to turn the page from last season. However, Bradley is a guy who can spot the pretenders from the legitimate edge rushers, so Nassib is either going to impress, or be shown the door.
