Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Opponent Preview: Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Subtractions

As mentioned, Los Angeles didn’t retain their star tight end Hunter Henry, but, Los Angeles lost a few other players as well.

Offensive linemen Dan Feeney and Forrest Lamp both moved on to new teams, with Feeney going to the New York Jets and Lamp heading to the Buffalo Bills. While neither player was an all-pro, losing two starting linemen is a major hit for any NFL team.

Los Angeles also lost their veteran cornerback Casey Hayward, who went to Las Vegas.

Los Angeles changed their coaching staff as well, as defensive coordinator Gus Bradley decided to take his talents to Las Vegas and coach with his buddy Jon Gruden. Head coach Anthony Lynn was fired and replaced with Brandon Staley, who was formerly the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.

The success of this team will rely on how Staley implements his new system and uses the talents that were already present on the team.
