4 potential scapegoats if things go wrong for the Raiders in 2021

Alex Leatherwood, OT

During the 2021 offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders made everybody shake their heads when they traded away sixty percent of their starting offensive line. Gabe Jackson, Rodney Hudson, and Trent Brown will all have new homes during the 2021 season, and for the Raiders, one of those holes left will be filled by a rookie.

Alex Leatherwood’s Raiders career got off to a bad start, as he being selected in the first round was seen as a head-scratcher by many members of the media. The fact is, he is a very good offensive tackle, and some believe that if the Raiders did not take him, then he would have been off the board later in round one.

While that is all hearsay, the fact is, he is going to have to perform at a high level, or else he is another player who will be blamed for a losing season. Stepping in and starting at offensive tackle is not easy, just ask Kolton Miller, but Leatherwood has the size, strength, and background to come in and excel, and he better be ready.
