How the Darron Lee signing impacts the Las Vegas Raiders

How the move impacts the roster

The Las Vegas linebacker room was already a crowded one, and adding Lee to the mix only makes things more complicated. It’s pretty much a guarantee that Kwiatkoski, Littleton, and Morrow are all locks to be starters when the 2021 season kicks off.

Divine Deablo, since he is a rookie and a developmental prospect, appears to be the only other linebacker who is likely going to make the regular-season roster.

Every other linebacker on this roster really has an uncertain future. Tanner Muse, who was only drafted a year ago but hasn’t seen the field due to injury, is a solid special teamer who will likely be used exclusively in that role. Javin White has shown some flashes, but whether or not he has the talents to make the roster is unknown.

Players like James Onwualu and Asmar Bilal will likely not make the roster unless they really find a way to impress the coaching staff at camp.

With all of these uncertainties at the backup linebacker position, there is a really good chance that Lee finds a way to make the roster. He’d be useful on rush defending downs and to step in for a few reps when needed.

He also has been around the league for a bit, which is always a plus. So, even though he just joined the team, don’t be surprised if Lee finds himself on the roster in Week 1.
