Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Training Camp preview: Quarterback

Who makes the team?

This is a position group that is not hard to figure out, as Carr and Mariota will make the Week 1 roster barring injury. Peterman was brought back with a new deal this offseason, but he is still a project for Gruden, even though I am not quite sure why the head coach is so enamored with him.

Going into the Week 1 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in primetime on Monday Night Football, the Raiders should have two quarterbacks on the roster. That will give them the flexibility to keep some extra linemen, or skill guys on the roster, especially against one of the better teams in the AFC.

When all is said and done, Peterman is going to be on the practice squad, with only Carr and Mariota making the Week 1 roster. Las Vegas needs to carry more talent on defense this season, and keeping three quarterbacks just does not make sense when looking at this roster.
