Las Vegas Raiders: 5 players that must perform for a 2021 playoff berth
By CJ Errickson
If the Las Vegas Raiders want to make a legitimate run to the playoffs this season, these five players are the keys to them clinching a spot.
This past week, the Las Vegas Raiders concluded their 2021 mandatory minicamp in Henderson, Nevada. There are plenty of new faces amongst players and staff for the upcoming season, many of which boast playoff experience that seems to elude most of the Raiders roster.
The goal is evident and tangible for head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock; it’s time to execute. Execution for the team has missed the mark since Gruden returned to the organization in 2018.
The Silver and Black have yet to make the postseason, and pundits and the fanbase alike are starting to question the former Super Bowl XXXVII-winning head coach’s ability to lead the team to new heights. The roster has been revamped, talent has been added at positions of need, and for a franchise that has faltered down the stretch the last two seasons, the time is now to put it all together.
With that being said, 5 players can lead Las Vegas to the postseason, and the first player is obvious.
