Melvin Ingram, Edge

This is one of the moves that seems the most likely. The former Los Angeles Charger checks the boxes in numerous fields for the Raiders. First, he is a former pupil of new Raider defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

Melvin Ingram played for Bradley for four seasons with the Chargers, and of his three Pro Bowl seasons, they all came playing under Bradley. Two, the Raiders are still in need of more pass-rushing options, well let’s be honest, you can never have too many pass-rushing options.

The Raiders did add defensive end Yannick Ngakoue in the offseason, and he surely will help out immediately on the Raiders defensive line, but outside of Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby, there is not much consistency in the form of pass-rushing on the defensive line. Ingram would provide an instant charge to this defensive line and give the Raiders a chance to have one of the best defensive lines in the division.

Ingram has had his battles with staying healthy, but when available, he is always a threat to get to the quarterback. At the age of 32, his best days may be behind him, but for a one-year prove-it deal, he is surely worth the risk here.
