4 available free agents the Las Vegas Raiders should still target
KJ Wright, LB
Another former pupil of Gus Bradley here, from his stint as defensive coordinator in Seattle, K.J. Wright would add some much-needed depth to the linebacker group. Wright has been a key contributor for nearly a decade with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Raiders linebacking corps was a bit of disappointment in 2020, especially considering all of the money the Raiders poured into it to fix during the offseason last year. Cory Littleton, Nick Kwiatkoski, and Nicholas Morrow are all guaranteed to start in 2021, but it wouldn’t hurt to add some more depth in the linebacking department.
Wright would push for playing time and maybe even a starting position. His best days may be behind him so to speak, but he still has much to prove and is ideal in a 4-3 system. Bradley would be able to bring out the best in Wright, and he would solidify a linebacking unit that has been unspectacular for quite some time for the Raiders.
The move here may not even be on the Raiders’ radar, but it is an intriguing option, and if the price is right, the Raiders should make a move here.
Not predicting this move will happen, but if Wright was brought in, it would make a ton of sense for the Raiders. And with almost 1,000 career tackles, the former Mississippi state product would add some veteran and winning pedigree to the Raider defense.
