Raiders roster: 2021 Post-minicamp 53-man roster prediction

Defensive End

  • Clelin Ferrell, Maxx Crosby, Yannick Ngakoue, Malcolm Koonce, Carl Nassib

The defensive side of the football will look a lot different when the 53-man roster shapes up thanks to the Las Vegas’ offseason additions and their new defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. On the defensive line, Vegas added edge rushers Yannick Ngakoue and Malcolm Koonce.

Ngakoue is expected to be a dominant pass rusher to pair with Maxx Crosby. Koonce will be worked in on occasion, but don’t expect a large role for him just yet unless he really impresses.

Crosby and Clelin Ferrell have to grow in Year 3. Maxx has had the better career so far from a pass-rushing standpoint and, now that Ngakoue can take some double teams, he can create the same amount of pressure that he did in his rookie year.

Ferrell is an important run stopper, but he still has to work on penetrating through the line and disrupting the quarterback. Carl Nassib will likely be used as a rotational piece, and he’ll give some guys a break when the need arises.
