Las Vegas Raiders: Early 2021 prediction for MVP, MIP, and ROY

Team MVP: Derek Carr, Quarterback

You’ve heard it all when it comes to starting quarterback Derek Carr. “Make it or break it year”, “Playoffs or Bust”, and while Carr says he is immune to the noise, he hears it too. In Year 8, Carr is itching for wins, along with the Raiders organization.

Carr’s last, and coincidentally only winning season came in 2016 when he was a front-runner for the league MVP Award, as he led the then-Oakland Raiders to their first playoff berth in 13 seasons before he broke his leg on Christmas Eve against the Colts. Carr has taken full command of this team since then, and under Jon Gruden, Carr seems to have more autonomy now than he ever had in his many years in the Silver and Black.

Gruden trusts Carr and Carr’s teammates do as well.

After the Raiders have started out 6-4 in back to back seasons only to succumb to a late-season slide to knock them out of the playoffs, this is the year that the Raiders respond to return to the postseason, and they will be led by their Captain and signal-caller, Derek Carr. In fact, this is going to be the best season of Carr’s career, as he finally makes a start in a postseason game.
