Raiders roster: 3 new players who could be one-and-done in 2021
Nick Martin, OL
One of the more surprising moves this offseason was the trading of Rodney Hudson, widely regarded as the best center in all of football. Since coming over to the Raiders from the Kansas City Chiefs, Hudson has been an anchor along this Raiders offensive line, and his presence is surely going to be missed this upcoming season.
In his place, the Raiders could go two different ways, as they gave Andre James a hearty contract, but also brought in a veteran in Nick Martin. Martin has been the starting center in Houston for the last three years, protecting Deshaun Watson, and the hope is that he can come in and challenge James for the starting center position in Las Vegas.
However, if Martin fails to beat out James, and James ends up being worthy of his new contract, there is really no reason to bring Martin back for another go-around in 2022. If Martin shows that he belongs to be the starter, that is another story, and the Raiders should bring him back, but they must see something in James to give him a new contract this offseason.
