Raiders free agency: 3 dream targets for Las Vegas in 2022
Brandon Scherff, OG
Turning our attention to the offensive side of the ball, the Raiders may decide to dip their toes in the free agency waters when it comes to the offensive line next year. This offseason, they revamped the unit, trading away Gabe Jackson, Rodney Hudson, and Trent Brown, and will now turn to a rookie at right tackle, someone who has not played much at center, and a depth lineman at offensive guard.
Next year, especially if this group struggles to protect Derek Carr, and fails to open lanes for Josh Jacobs, the Raiders have to take an eye on a strong free agency class upfront. One player they should target would be Brandon Scherff from the Washington Football Team, a four-time Pro Bowler who was first-team All-Pro this past season.
With Richie Incognito‘s age, as well as his pending free agency, if the Raiders were able to nab a player like Scherff, they would be done at the guard position for quite some time. This is a proven player at the NFL level, and with Las Vegas coveting strong offensive line play, Mayock and Gruden may throw a big chunk of money at him next offseason.
