Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Training Camp Preview: Running Back

Who’s Here

While Jacobs will be at the top of the depth chart, as he is one of the best young players in the game, he has a solid No. 2 for the 2021 NFL season. Kenyan Drake was brought in on a pretty hefty contract during free agency, giving the Raiders what could be one of the best one-two punches in the NFL.

With Drake in the fold, the Raiders now have two running backs who could easily rack up over 1,000 all-purpose yards in 2021, and both are going to play well off one another. In addition, if Jacobs goes down due to injury, which has been the case, Gruden has a legitimate backup ready to shoulder the load.

Two familiar faces return at running back as well this summer, as Jalen Richard is still on the team, despite rumors he could be done in Las Vegas, and Theo Riddick returns. Trey Ragas will be a camp body, and at fullback, Alec Ingold will once again be leading the way for Jacobs this Fall.

In camp, he will be backed up by Garrett Groshek, an undrafted free agent.
