Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Training Camp Preview: Running Back

Expectations in 2021

There are some big expectations for the Raiders this upcoming season, as they faltered down the stretch in both 2019 and 2020. For the running backs, the expectation is that they will be one of the better units in football this season, especially with the addition of Drake, and the continued development of Jacobs.

Jacobs is a guy who could be in line for his first All-Pro nod this season, and the hope is, with depth behind him, he can stay healthy for the full 17-game season. Las Vegas is going to need him at peak performance as they come down the stretch in 2021, and by utilizing Drake, Riddick, and Ingold, they should keep him fresh enough for a legitimate playoff run.

This group has the talent to be one of the better units in football in 2021, especially atop the depth chart with Jacobs and Drake. Gruden has stated he is going to use Drake in many roles and coming off his first Pro Bowl season, you can expect another monster season from Jacobs in Year 3.
