Raiders roster: Predicting the 2021 starting lineup entering camp

Base Offense

  • Kolton Miller, Richie Incognito, Andre James, Denzelle Good, Alex Leatherwood
  • Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, Alec Ingold, Darren Waller, Henry Ruggs, John Brown

The Raiders offense has undergone a major transformation at just one position group, and that is of course the offensive line. The entire right side of the offensive line, including center Rodney Hudson, has been traded away and replaced with younger and cheaper replacements.

The left side is the same as Week 1 of 2020, with big money man Kolton Miller and Richie Incognito holding it down.

In at center is a player we have seen very little of in-game action, but is someone the coaching staff is very high on in Andre James. Lining up alongside him is the versatile veteran Denzelle Good and rookie Alex Leatherwood, who has reportedly looked much better in mini-camps and is settling in nicely as the starter at right tackle.

At the skill positions, no surprises, as the big three of Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, and Darren Waller all return after stellar 2020 seasons. We will likely be seeing less of Jacobs with the addition of Kenyan Drake, but fewer touches mean a fresher back down the stretch run when a strong running game is most needed.

John Brown and Henry Ruggs are the starters at X and Z receiver with Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards as the first men off the bench in multiple receiver sets. The hope is that Brown fills the void left by the departure of Nelson Agholor, and Ruggs becomes the game-breaker the Raiders envisioned him to be.

The depth at wide receiver and other skill positions is exciting as this offense is suddenly two-deep at every position with playmakers, even at quarterback.
