Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Training Camp preview: Wide Receiver
Expectations
The expectation for this group goes from very high, as they have some incredible young talent to go along with some proven veterans, to very low, as most of the position group is a question mark. If Ruggs and Edwards can take a major step forward in 2021, their second season in the pros, then this becomes one of the strengths of this roster.
Ruggs can take the top off a defense at any time, and Edwards has the kind of size that could make him a favorite target of Carr in the red zone. When you add to the fact that Darren Waller is an elite tight end, and led the team in receptions last season, the Raiders should have no shortage of weapons for Derek Carr in this passing attack.
Las Vegas Raiders: 5 players set to turn heads at 2021 training camp
The Las Vegas Raiders have lots of new faces on the roster and here are 5 players who are set to turn heads at training camp.
However, there is also the big if, and that is if Ruggs and Edwards struggle and the Raiders do not get Agholor-like effort from Brown. Overall, my expectation is that Ruggs assumes the WR1 mantle in Year 2, and there is enough versatility and depth within the position group to make this one of the more well-rounded collections of talent at the position in the division.
