Las Vegas Raiders 2021 Training Camp Preview: Tight End

Who makes the team

Looking at this depth chart, two names will definitely break camp with the team, and that is Waller and Moreau. This duo is going to tear up the NFL this season, and when the Raiders get into the red zone, it would not be surprising if Jon Gruden went to two tight end sets, getting the ball to either playmaker in the end zone.

Outside of these two, it will be a battle for that third tight end spot, with the edge going to Carrier in the early going. Carrier is a proven player within this Raiders offense and has the trust of Gruden, so he will have a leg up as the team heads to Henderson to kick off training camp on July 27.

However, Bushman is an outstanding athlete, and based on what we have seen on camp, he is certainly going to give Carrier a run for his money. If Gruden decides to, he may actually end up bringing four tight ends into Week 1, with Carrier being more of a blocking tight end, but either way, there is a lot of talent to choose from.

As it stands, I like the Raiders to bring three tight ends with them out of camp:

  • Darren Waller, Foster Moreau, and Derek Carrier
